+Jon Gomm, great musician (e.g. Jon Gomm - Ain't Nobody (Chaka Khan), or below)… and (involuntary?) buddhist teacher, on mental fabrications (i.e. interpretation of perception / feeling)!

Somebody I know was suffering with nerves before an important event, and was asking how I deal with getting nervous before going on stage. The thing is, all great performers I know get nervous. The problem is not the sensation of nerves in your body, the problem is that you've decided to interpret them as fear, as an indication you can't cope or you're gonna mess up. That's not what it is. It's your personality subtly transforming from the normal, everyday you, into the slightly more special version of you required for this special situation. Once you figure out what this new version of you is all about, you'll welcome the sensation of nerves.

Wanna be Clark Kent? Or Superman? You choose. :)
