Is Buddhism Bewitched With Superstition?

In honor of Friday the 13th, 2013, I felt it was the right day to talk about superstition in  #Buddhism !  Are all those unusual ceremonies, rituals, and talk of the 'supernatural' really part of Buddhism?  Should you partake in these ceremonies?

Read my brand new article here:  http://www.alanpeto.com/articles/2013/superstition-in-buddhism/

The Buddha rejected superstition, fortune telling, and other things that hindered a practitioners progress in understanding the truth (Dharma).  But rituals and ceremonies do have their place in Buddhism, and there is a "true" power you can achieve.  Read the article to find out what it is ;)

What do you think?  Did this help explain superstition and ceremonies in Buddhism to you?  Do you have your own insight and experience?
